In this workshop, Laurie Marks, Certified Yoga Therapist will be offering a talk on what resilience is, what it means to you and how you can build it. A guided practice designed to cultivate resilience will follow the discussion. The practice is appropriate for all levels, even those new to Yoga.
Laurie will offer a private consultation at a reduced rate for students wishing to develop a home practice that addresses their unique needs and goals.

It’s the number one cause of lost work days in the U.S. In this workshop, you will learn the potential causes and risk factors. After discussion, you will be guided through a practice designed to explore the nature of your back pain. It will also include developmental postures to keep the low back healthy and strong. This workshop is appropriate for all levels, even those new to Yoga.

Have you ever noticed how music can carry you away? In this workshop we’ll be discussing the energetics and meaning of sound, specifically chant and mantra. How can these tools be meaningfully integrated into your Yoga practice? After discussion, you’ll be guided through a simple practice intended to calm the nervous system – and the mind. Practice will end in time for Q&A. Uncomfortable with sanskrit? No fear! Laurie will offer other suggestions or you may come with your own. Chanting experience is not required and you are welcome to simply listen to the chant during class. Laurie will offer a private consultation at a reduced rate for those students wishing to develop a home practice that addresses their unique needs and goals.

According to the ancients, when troubling thoughts, emotions or moods arise, focusing the mind, gaining support from the teachings and regularly utilizing the tools of practice can help us manage the symptoms ~ in this case of anxiety. In this 90 minute workshop, we’ll be exploring several tools including philosophy, breath centric asana, pranayama, the power of sankalpa (intention), faith, prayer and perhaps mantra and aspects of sound.

The tools of Yoga can help us cope with the multi-dimensional experience of grief which impacts us at all levels: structurally, physiologically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.
Join me for a series of gentle Yoga classes that will help you metabolize and transform your grief. I am pleased to welcome Whitney Haney, MA, LPC of the Denver Hospice, Grief Counselor and Art Therapist who will be facilitating a group discussion after the Yoga practice.
Spots are limited; early registration is encouraged for pre-session intake. Registration by application is required. Recommended for those who have had at least 2 months pass since the death of their loved one.

You’ll learn the Yoga philosophy that applies to habits, the neurobiology and other aspects of the habit loop, all of which will empower you to change. After our discussion you’ll be guided through a Yoga practice specifically designed to address the triggers that reinforce bad habits. You’ll be given a take home assignment and Yoga practice.
